Title: Loan to the Lord.

He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; And that which he hath given will he pay him again.
Proverbs 19:17 KJV

Devotion: Today is boxing day, the day after Christmas, a day when gifts are packaged in boxes and sent out to families and friends. Today's verse is apt in that it encourages us to give to the less privileged in our society.
The season is a season of sharing of love and happiness. According to the verse above let's put a smile on the faces of our neighbours by sharing our meals with them, clothing them, helping the elderly in our neighbourhood, paying bills to keep them warm, giving scholarship to indigent pupils and students. If we do these we are only storing treasures up for our selves and at the right time we will harvest it.
Jesus in Matthew 25 vs 40 echoes the same verse when He says "And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, in as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." Let us remember that any good we do will surely return to us.
The little boy donated his lunch of 5 loaves of bread and 2 pieces of fish(John 6:9)to feed the multitudes (5000) and went home with 12 baskets(John 6:13). So let's emulate him and give as much as we can and we will get much more in return. Jesus promises to repay us in several folds in Luke 6 vs 38. Try it and see the goodness of God. Your testimony is just around the corner.
