Title: No Impossibility with God.
Scripture Focus: "For with God nothing shall be impossible." Luke 1:37 KJV
Devotion: We often throw around the word "impossible" when we hit a wall. We look at our bank accounts, medical reports, or broken relationships and think, there is absolutely no way out of this. It’s a natural human response because our view is limited by what we can see, touch, and fix with our own hands.
But the moment God steps into the equation, the word "impossible" loses all its power.
When the angel Gabriel spoke these words to Mary, she was a young virgin being told she would give birth to the Savior of the world. Biologically? Impossible. Logically? Unheard of. Yet, Gabriel reminded her that God doesn't operate within the boundaries of human limitations.
Let’s look at a few moments in scripture where God took situations that were completely dead, trapped, or finished by human standards, and turned them into displays of His absolute power.
1. When Dead Hopes Come Alive
In Genesis 18:14, God asked Abraham a piercing question: "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" Abraham and Sarah were well past the age of having children. Sarah’s womb was biologically dead. When she heard she would have a son, she actually laughed out of sheer disbelief.
But God got the last laugh. At the exact time God specified, Isaac was born. When your situation looks barren and the clock has seemingly run out, remember that God specializes in bringing life to things the world has already written off.
2. When There is No Human Way Out
Think about the Israelites standing at the edge of the Red Sea (Exodus 14). Behind them was the terrifying, bloodthirsty Egyptian army. In front of them was miles of deep water. They were completely trapped. There was no backup plan, no military strategy, and nowhere to run.
What did God do? He didn't just build a bridge; He parted the sea. He turned a massive obstacle into a highway for their deliverance. When you feel cornered by life, God is fully capable of opening a path where there is absolutely no visible ground to walk on.
3. When Resources Feel Too Small:
We see this again in the New Testament when Jesus faced a hungry crowd of over 5,000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fish (John 6:1-14). The disciples looked at the crowd, looked at the lunchbox, and concluded it was a hopeless situation.
But Jesus took the little they had, blessed it, and multiplied it until everyone was completely full—with twelve baskets of leftovers to spare. God doesn't need a lot to do a miracle; He just needs what you are willing to place in His hands.
The Takeaway:
God is not limited by your lack of resources, your past, your age, or your current environment. The next time you find yourself staring at an "impossible" situation, shift your focus off the size of the mountain and place it on the power of the Mountain-Mover. If He can part seas, bring life to barren places, and conquer the grave, He can handle what you are facing today.
Prayer for Today:
Lord, forgive me for the times I have looked at my problems through human eyes and allowed fear to take over. Today, I choose to build my faith on Your track record. I hand over my worries, my 'impossible' situations, and my limitations to You, trusting that nothing is too hard for Your hands. In Jesus' name, Amen.
