Title: Give Glory to God Always.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Ephesians 3:20‭-‬21 KJV Devotion: Many times we humans imagine a lot of things in dreams or in the physical, things beyond our imagination. When we do it or receive it some of us flex muscle as if it was the power of our muscles that did it. We become proud and fail to acknowledge the fact that it was God who did it for us.  We as children of God must have it at the back of our mind that not us but God is behind our success and give him the glory. God does not like it when we share glory with him, He wants to take glory for what He did, does or will do for us. God works within us to accomplish His purpose, not that He cannot do without us but God rejoices when we participate in His work, He becomes proud of us like good father is proud when the children are succes...

Title : Whosoever

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13" Devotion : The Word of God is truth; whosoever called on the name of the Lord was saved. Apostle Paul called upon the name of Jesus Christ and was saved, as did Timothy, Philemon, Luke, Mark, Prisca, Aquila, etc.    Jesus Christ will not reject anyone who calls on Him from a sincere heart because  He says in John 14:14, that "John 14:14  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it." Jesus Christ does not discriminate; He gives attention to the poor, rich, sick, healthy, servant, master, president, laborer, man, woman, child, etc. The only small matter is your acceptance of Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Once that is done ask and you shall receive provided not for self end or to oppress.  Dear beloved, have you called upon the name of the Lord? Share with others how you felt after calling on Him!  https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kjvstudybible.bible.k...

Title: The Lord's Battle!

"Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you. 2 Chronicles 20:17" Devotion : There are different battles to fight as a child of God, but the good news is that it is not all these battles we should spend our time fighting. The opening scripture throws light on it; King Jehoshaphat was threatened by Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir.   The LORD gave the king a strategy to raise singers to lead the king and his army to battle. When the singers began to worship God, God confounded the enemies to fight against themselves until they had destroyed themselves.    The Christian is encouraged to develop a lifestyle of praise and worship so the Lord can fight for you. Our battles are easy because the battles are the LORD's and not ours.  Dear reader, how do you find your battles? Do you panic in ...

Title: Food or Heaven.

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4 KJV Devotion: The bible says in 1Cor 6:13a food for the stomach and stomach for the food but both will perish. Many of us cannot but eat as many times as possible because it has become our habit.    I make bold to say many people cannot fast for six hours once in a week because they must eat though fasting is good for spiritual growth and physical health. In the passage above Jesus told Satan that the most important factor in life is how to make heaven rather what to eat and drink because God who feeds the birds of heaven (Matt 6:26) will provide for our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.(Philippians 4:19).  Dearly beloved, I urge you to make heaven your priority and all other things including food that the world scramble for will be added to you effortlessly. (Matt 6:33) I am your friend Dr Joel Olanrewaju...

Title: Your Faith matters, God will do It.

For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:37 KJV Devotion:  The angel answered Mary, and said "For with God nothing shall be impossible" now this is deep faith to a woman who did not know a man to conceive. Only God can do that.  To those who believe when God says something nothing is impossible, all you need to do is believe. Lazarus was dead for 4 days and God through Jesus brought him back to life so whatever the situation you maybe going through just believe that nothing is impossible with God.   If you can conceive the idea you can do it not you but God in you. All that matters is your faith and tenacity. Did you get a diagnosis, are you going for examination or business meeting? Cheer up, I urge you to believe that nothing is impossible with God and that you will be successful.  Remember the small matter is your faith in God, come back to Him today if you have backslidden. Testimonies await you if you believe. Hallelujah! I am your friend Dr Joel Ol...

Title: Standing before the Mirror?

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: for he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. James 1:22‭-‬24 KJV Devotion: I was standing in front of a mirror and my second son who was 4 years then and had not seen a standing mirror rushed to the restroom behind to confirm if I was at same time in the restroom. He did not understand that it was my reflection behind he thought I had become two.  A person standing before a mirror with badly made facial treatment must do something about it, if not he goes to town with his ugly face; so is a person who fails to act on his character after hearing or reading the word of God. The word teaches character but if having heard the teaching and you continue to remain in sin it's left for you. You'll be answerable one day and the word will stand ag...

Title: The Word is Hope!

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4 KJV Devotion: The word of God we learned  yesterday is God (John 1:1) was purposely written so that you and I might have hope as we go through life. God Himself is Hope personified so His word is Hope.  The story of Abraham and Sarah tells you no matter how long God will do that which He promised. Joseph's story tells you though you might be persecuted by your own, sent to the pit and prison you'll still achieve what God destined you to be. No matter your sin God of mercy who forgave David will forgive you if you confess and repent. Though you may lose everything don't despair you'll get double portion just like Job.  In all of these, these patriarchs stood fast they never despaired or look back, they were faithful to the end because they knew the word of God. This is where faith comes in, reading the word and...

Title: The Word is God

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path." Psalm 119:105 KJV Devotion: In John 1:1, the bible says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The writer of passion 119 understood this and its importance that the Bible is not just book of texts but it is God Himself. Therefore he says "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path" because without God one cannot go far in this world that is full of evil acts and people.    Dear reader, what is the lamp, a pathfinder for you in this world, who do you commit your ways unto before you get out of the house this day? Do you just jump into the car or bus and off you go? I know most do just as above they do not care and they are safe, no problem about that.   Yet there is this little matter, yes little but very important because many will go out today and never to return, the bell will toll. Have you thought of this? Where will you end it if it happens...

Title: Love all, even your enemies!

See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. 1 Thessalonians 5:15 KJV Devotion: A true Christian follows the steps of Christ, in fact that's why he is called a Christian. Jesus Christ taught us to love everyone even our enemies and He did that even to the point of death. He healed the ear of the enemy cut off by one of his followers (Luke 22:52), He blessed the people who mocked Him and said father forgive them for they know not what they do.(Luke 23:34) This same teaching is what Paul is teaching you and me today, never to repay evil with evil, but with love. We should love all even those who did wrong to us. It is by so doing that we will win many over to Christ and to those who refused to repent heap coals of fire on them.(Romans 12:20) Dearly beloved, how do you respond to that your neighbour who offended you. Show him love and pray for him. Your testimony comes soon, hallelujah. You can reach Dr Joe...

Title: Saved? Save others.

who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Colossians 1:13‭-‬14 KJV Devotion: We were once in darkness of sin, but we have been delivered by God through Christ His son. We did not achieve it but we were saved by grace, all our sin taken away, nailed to the cross with the old man who delivered us.   This we should constantly remember by studying the word of God and keeping away from sin. We must appreciate God for it by constantly living to please God and doing His will. We must also work hard to save others who are still living according to the lust of the flesh and eyes. We must strive to bring them to the knowledge of the word of God so that they too can enjoy what we are enjoying.  Dear reader share your opinion on this with us. Hallelujah. Dr Joel Olanrewaju can be reached on gbemide09@gmail.com for questions, suggestions and pray...

Title: Confess and Repent!

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16 KJV Devotion: The age we live in is full of deceit, couples live under same roof without actually knowing each other, parents don't even really know what their children do at school, yeah it is that bad.  In the teaching of James this morning we are told to confess our fault one to another, come out in the open before your partner, your parents or friend and seek for forgiveness. Then whatever you and your friend or spouse ask from God you'll easily get. You cannot be in sin and think that grace will continue to abound it is just not possible. (Romans 6:1  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?) If grace will not abound when in deliberate sin and you refuse to confess and repent then your prayers will not be effective and will not do much. Therefore next time you pray and do not receive ...

Title: The Nation of God!

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:9‭-‬10 KJV Devotion: We, Christians if we can trace our genealogy and ancestral history will know that most of them were idol worshipers. We have been called out of this into the family of God through Christ Jesus who gave His life so that we may become children of God, co-heirs with Jesus.   We should be grateful for this immense grace and be thankful all the time. When we look back or read the story of nonbelievers and understand what they go through then we have to thank God who gives us citizenship. There's is no room for pride because once upon a time we were not allowed into citizenship of God, not regarded as a people. We did not achieve this ...

Title: Trust in the Lord for Ever.

Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: Isaiah 26:4 KJV Devotion: In the time past Rock are seen as insurmountable objects and some eg Himalayas are still insurmountable. The Israelites used to hide under the mountains and are very safe there. Hence the comparison of God with rocks (mountains).    Now God is like Rock, no power in the universe can overpower God, therefore God becomes a sure save Haven to hide in the time of trouble. God says in Jeremiah 33:3 "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." If want to call on God you go through our advocate general the man Jesus Christ because Jesus says in John 14:14 "If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it."  Therefore what are you waiting for, run to God this morning and you will not remain the same again. He's anxiously waiting for you to deliver you, to assist you and bless you. (Revelation 3:20) Try God t...

Title:What gives the enemy an advantage?

He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and without walls. Proverbs 25:28 KJV   Devotion: Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) that is often overlooked and less discussed. Mostly, love, patience, kindness, and faithfulness are the mainstream teachings in Christianity. But what is self-control? According to Proverbs 25:28, if you are a person with no self-control, you are like a broken city with no walls! What do walls signify in this scripture? Think about protection, privacy, boundaries, and wisdom! A person who lacks self-control is giving the enemy an advantage to attack and come in to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10) a person’s life.   Beloved, aim to develop and master self-control with the Holy Spirit at all costs! It is for your own good and even for those you love! Rejoice whenever you are faced with difficult situations and people that seem to test your control over your emotions, have trouble keeping your...

Title: The Strong Tower!

The name of the LORD is a strong tower: The righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Proverbs 18:10 KJV Devotion: In the years past when there were no planes, drones and bombs the tower was a safe place to hide during a war. It was nearly impossible to attain for the sword using soldier once the tower was entered and the metal door was locked.  Solomon used the tower as metaphor in the passage quoted above. Today the tower is the word of God that you run to whenever you find yourself in difficult situation. You need to apply Faith and strongly believe while you pray on the situation and you'll will find solution.   There's a caveat though and that is you must be a righteous person, this means you must have a relationship with God through Jesus His son(John 3:16) and live in total obedience. Only then will you be saved.   Dear reader are you a righteous person or is there a small matter that had not been resolved between you and God? Try to solve it today, come to Jesu...

Title: Be Humble.

if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV Devotion: When a person sins and begs for forgiveness he's forgiven and life moves on. The Israelites, the chosen of God often sinned and got punished and when sober, they seek forgiveness and God always forgive them.    The verse above came up in one of such times when Israel sinned but they were not deterred until Jesus came to give his Life for the sin of the tribe of Israel and by extension you and me. In the present generation people do a lot of evil things without bathing an eye and even behave as if it was rightful act.    Paul also emphasized on sin in his letter to Romans when he asked " What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer there...

Title: The only Solicitor General!

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;  1 Timothy 2:5 KJV Devotion: In the present world people have diverse believe in God and how to get to Him. Even among "Christian" some think the bible is just one of the books and do not wholly agree with the words of God therein. Some will argue that it was written by men and that all that was written cannot be true and that science has proved it wrong. But such argument is based on false knowledge of God. There are people who argue that there are other ways to make heaven other than true Christ Jesus. In John 14:6  Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." This is indisputable fact because the way to God was opened for human beings by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He opened the way to God for us because he loves us. (John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.) Otherwi...

Title: Give.

I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 20:35 KJV Devotion: Jesus Christ is our greatest example that we have to emulate in everything that we do. Jesus Christ left His thrown in heaven, came to earth to save you and me. He did for the love of human beings and He was not expecting any humanly profit.   Since we are to emulate Jesus Christ we as His followers must must go out of our ways to assist others even when it will hurt us without hoping to receive any profit in return. So when we give we must give in such a way that we feel it in our account and give to people who will never be able to pay us in return. The weak, sick and who have no other source of help.   We should not be like some who goes to orphanages with camera men to donate expired or about to expire food stuffs. We should only give quality and what we ourselve...

Title: Don’t serve money!

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10 KJV Devotion: Money is a powerful tool in people’s lives. And even for Christians, money plays a crucial role in supplying everyday needs and living, advancing the Kingdom of God, and accomplishing many things for the glory of God. That being said, we must be vigilant and sober-minded when it comes to handling and accumulating money because it is a treasure that belongs to the world.   When we die, we won’t bring the money with us! That is why the Bible commands us to make our tithes and offerings (Malachi 3:10) and cheerfully give to others in need (2 Corinthians 9:6-7) so that the love of money and greed won’t get a hold of us! Jesus Christ said we cannot serve both God and money (Matthew 6:24), for we will hate one and love the other.  Beloved, money in itself is not evil, but the love of money i...

Title: Ask with unwavering Faith.

Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:11 KJV Devotion: Good day, have you praised God this day? Yeah, then go on to ask for your daily bread from God through Christ His son. If you do and believe you will receive.   Remember do not ask amiss, the bible says in James 4:3 "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." Therefore know that you will not receive because God will only give what will profit you and Him. Also do not ask what you do not need because God only promised to give you your needs. In Philippians 4:19, the bible says "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Have you given your life to Christ? If not you may not have access to God's bank because Jesus has the cheque book. (John 14:14). You cannot just go to any bank to withdraw from it unless you have an account with the bank or someone who has an account gives you a cheque. I therefore urge you to ope...

Title: Here and now or Eternity.

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18 KJV Devotion: A soujouner endures hardships on the way because he knows that when he gets home he will rest and enjoy. I read the story of a 19 year old who embarked on bicycle world tour. He narrated his experience in 20 different countries, in some places he endured hunger, loneliness, sleeplessness and breakdown. He endured lack of financial ability for a short period; he did all because he had a target.  We are all sourjourners here on planet earth and must return to our home one day. Your endurance here will determine which home you are going. There are two homes, the first is with Satan, the father of deceit, he encourages you to cut corners, he tells you there's no need to endure that there's nowhere you're going, that everything ends here on earth. Do what you like, live your life to the full, drink, womanize, cheat etc; his h...

Title: He remains the Same.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8 KJV Devotion: We know that God existed before the earth was created, He exists today and will continue to exist. The same applies to the members of His committee - Jesus and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26 amplified bible classic edition)  So Jesus was yesterday, He is today and will be tomorrow. In all these Jesus did not change, remains humble, did not sin, selfless, loving, caring, benevolent and full of life. He did not lie, will not lie and whatever Jesus says He will do He will do.  But man is inconsistent with many changing like chameleon several times daily. A person will present differently to the family one way, differently at work and during the church service. In the home a person may be a good parent, treacherous at work and a saint in the Church. The time has come for you and me to become consistent and follow the example of our Lord Jesus Christ. If you have not given your life to Christ(John 3:1...

Title: Is it possible? YES!

But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Luke 6:35 KJV Devotion: Is it possible to love your enemies and do good to those who despitefully use you? Yes, because of two reasons.  The first reason is that as obedient disciple of Christ you have to do what Jesus Christ asks you to do. It's not about choices, obedience is total. The second reason is that you'll have a reward for doing it. This reward is great and you don't want to miss it, because you know that He who promised shall fulfil His promises. Similarly if you are benevolent you'll be called children of the most High God, dear reader there can't be a better title than this- Son/daughter of the most High God. You must also follow in the footsteps of your father God because "He is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil."  Dearly beloved, le...

Title: Effective Prayer

for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:8 KJV Devotion: Prayer is a conversation with God, in which you demonstrate your believe in God that God will do that which you asked of Him. To pray effectively Jesus tells you and me what to do in Matthew 7:7 and reinforced it the next verse 8.   Jesus says "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" these action words are all we need when we pray. When we ask, seek and knock inline with the will of God we will receive, find and it will be opened for us.   God's response to prayer is threefold Yes, No or Not Yet therefore expect one of these responses when you pray but don't stop praying. If you receive a yes thank God, if a No ask God why, it does not mean you query God. You want to know how to ask properly or why you should not ask. If you receive a Not yet thank God and seek direction....

Title: Job for Everyone!

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. Matthew 9:37‭-‬38 KJV Devotion: There's job for everyone who wants to work, the question is are you ready to work for Christ? To be employed you have to belong which means you have to be a disciple of Christ.   I urge you to give your life to Christ today John 3:16 and seek the thing of the kingdom of God first Matt 6:33 then all other things that the worldly people spent time pursuing will be added to you without sweat.   Then you'll have abundant time to learn the word of God and grow in it so that you'll be a good worker in the vineyard.    Are you ready? Take the necessary step today and may God help you in Jesus name. Hallelujah. I'm Dr Joel Olanrewaju reach me on gbemide09@gmail.com for questions, suggestions and prayer requests and for more devotionals check my page...

Title: Liberty.

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. Galatians 5:13 KJV Devotion: Every living being covets freedom, we all want to have freedom of expression, freedom to make life choices eg to marry who we love, live where we want, job etc. The question is how does my freedom impact on the other person.    I have read of cyber bulling, exposure to pornography, extortion and knowledge of bad habits such how to murder people, rob banks etc.   Such is the extent of freedom especially in this current age of internet.    But brethren you and I have been called into liberty by God through his son Jesus Christ. The freedom of God is different from the world's freedom that is permissive of evil things, but what is RIGHT and glorifies God.  Dearly beloved how do your freedom impact on others? Please re-examine yourself and and return to God. Please use your liberty positively and wi...

Title: The advantage of seeking many advisers

Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counselors they are established.  223 Proverbs 15:22 KJV Devotion: God did not create man to be an island. He made us belong to a home, community, family, and nation where we can grow, receive, and give love, co-exist, pursue hopes and dreams, and be in fellowship with one another; where He is glorified above all.    And Proverbs 15:22 teaches us the importance of allowing others to speak into our lives and give advice, feedback, and wisdom that will really be helpful in our journey in this life.   Beloved, it is not wise to keep things to yourself because when we don’t seek help, we are bound to fail because of our blind spots. When you have plans in life and can’t seem to find the right direction, don’t hesitate to reach out to a trusted friend, family member, or spiritual leader.    God will give them wisdom and the right words, as well as advice for you as you pray and confess (James 5:1...

Title: Working as For God, not for Man.

and whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23‭-‬24 KJV Devotion: This past week, after the Muslim holiday of Wednesday and Thursday, I travelled 34 (68 both ways) miles to work on Friday and people were surprised to see me. Many asked, HoD, what did you come to do, you could have stayed till Monday, I just smiled and told them I can't afford to leave the place for 5 days without supervision, it's my duty to make sure everything works smoothly.  That is working as if it's God's work on which Apostle Paul speaks to you and me today. He tells us to make God the heart of everything we do, not just our evangelical work but our secular work, either we work for someone or self. When we work for government establishment we should do it as if unto God   Now working as if unto God mean we must be diligent, honest, not late for work, work...

Title: The Lamb of God.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29 KJV Devotion: in Yorubaland it is the habit to compare someone to something bad or ugly when the person is abused. An example is this: his foot is as big as elephant's foot. Nobody will be happy to be compared with a wicked animal eg a wicked person can be compared to rhinoceros or a strong person to a lion. But it will not be a joking matter. A sluggish person can be compared to a jackal (sluggish, ugly and indifferent) etc.   Here John compared our Lord Jesus Christ, who was present at creation and had power to command and it will be to a lamb. A lamb is beautiful, obedient and gentle. But John says a lamb who takes away the sin of the world, not just of one person city or nation but all. This Lamb is not ordinary Lamb but Lamb of God. This is what makes the difference.  Such a lamb must be very powerful that we must admire Him, worship Him and ...
