Title: Standing before the Mirror?
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: for he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
James 1:22-24 KJV
Devotion: I was standing in front of a mirror and my second son who was 4 years then and had not seen a standing mirror rushed to the restroom behind to confirm if I was at same time in the restroom. He did not understand that it was my reflection behind he thought I had become two.
A person standing before a mirror with badly made facial treatment must do something about it, if not he goes to town with his ugly face; so is a person who fails to act on his character after hearing or reading the word of God. The word teaches character but if having heard the teaching and you continue to remain in sin it's left for you. You'll be answerable one day and the word will stand against you.
Dearly beloved, are you before the mirror, do something about yourself before it is too late. May God help us to become who he wants us to be- spotless, blameless, in Jesus name. Hallelujah.
