Title: Be Patient and Stand Fast.
Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
James 5:7-8 KJV
Devotion: We live in a world of fast and now, none wants to delay, a computer generation, in fact moving on to Artificial Intelligence age (AI). With AI one can almost solve any problem instantaneously. But our God does not count time like we do, for a thousand years before God is like a moment. (2 Peter 3:8)
Apostle James, penned these words under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to a community of new Jewish converts to Christianity, dispersed throughout various regions. These early Christians faced many trials, including persecution and opposition, because of their newfound faith. James’ call to wait patiently and endure was more than mere words on a page; they were a lifeline of hope and encouragement in the midst of adversity.
I don't know under what circumstances you live but a relationship with God calls for patience and steadfastness. If your request has not been answered, keep asking in prayer. The period of wait will enable you to draw nearer to God, to mature, become deep in the relationship so that you are able to counsel others when in similar position.
Remaining in the Lord brings Hope and earnest expectation that will guide our Spirit to the time of his coming. Do not be like patriarch Abram (Gen 16: 1-4) who took his wife's counsel and had trouble. Do not seek help where it is not available for all powers on earth and in heaven belongs to God.(Matt. 28 vs 18)
As you step out today keep your faith and trust in the Lord and know that your testimony is on the way. Shalom.
