Devotion: There are many people out there struggling day and night yet they cannot make ends meet. They work so hard that one needs to pity them yet it comes to naught. Why is it so? It is because they seek other gods other than God of heaven. The verse of the day says "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
To enjoy good life you have to check the foundation which is Christ, for you to achieve much give your life to Christ so that time of refreshing will come to you(Acts 3 vs 19-20). Now many of us gave our lives at one time or the other but are we still in Christ? Coming to church always is not equal to giving life to Christ or staying in Christ. To enjoy the goodness of God you must remain in Christ and not backslide, you must live a life of obedience. When you backslide it means you sin and are dead to Christ(Rom 3:23) but you are required to be dead to sin and alive in Christ.(1 Peter 2:24; Rom 6 :11)
 Gain:
If you live in obedience all the promises in Deuteronomy 28:1-13 will be yours for free because "The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it." (Proverbs 10:22)
If you are a member of the kingdom, God will give you rest (Matt 11:28).
Jesus fed 5000 men in the wilderness, these are men who sought the kingdom of God. Jesus did not feed the people who stayed home enjoying sinful lives, commiting adultery and fornication, drinking and gossiping. The child who donated his lunch made humongous profit of 12 baskets, that is what you get when you seek the kingdom of God.
If you seek the kingdom of God then you can boldly come to God and "ask, seek or knock" and you'll be welcomed(Matt 7:7); (Philippians 4:6) and God will answer you.
Out there, those who fail to give their lives to Christ do all sorts of evil things to become rich but the end thereoff is death (Rom 6:23a). I urge you dear reader, to return to Christ today if you had back slidden or come to Christ if you had not known him before. "Come to Christ, He satisfys" and testimonies await you in Jesus name. Hallelujah.
