Title: Do Not dwell on the Past.
Isaiah 43:18-19 KJV
[18] Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. [19] Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Devotion: Good day out there, the topic this morning is both spiritual and physical. In the physical we all have a past where we made wrong decision that hurt us badly. We are now in the present but some people have refused to leave the past, such a person cannot think right and move forward. They keep referring to the past either it was glorious or not, the past is gone forever you need to step up to the present and make new decisions for a better future.
In the spiritual, we all have a past that is probably not pleasant to disclose except to Jesus. Once we confess it to Jesus and stop dwelling on it, the past is gone forever. Unfortunately there are many people who fail to forgive themselves even when God had forgiven them. This action keeps weighing them down so much they cannot see the new thing God is about to do.
In both physical and spiritual realms God wants you and me to forget the past, stop dwelling on in the past and move forward because the past can't be changed. We however can work for a better and brighter future. This is what God wants for you and me. He wants to do a new thing with you and me.
A story of an exprisoner tells it all. He was an armed robber, killed several people and caught and convicted. He was sentenced to death but while waiting for death he gave his life to Christ and began to minister to other prisoners. The death sentence was commuted to life imprisonment and again he was freed. He is still doing great exploits for Christ.
The road may be rough but God will make rivers in the wilderness and create express roads there, only stop dwelling on the past, come to the present, repent today and be converted so that a new beginning will start in your life (Acts 3:19).
