Title: Don’t Feel Ashamed of Your Christianity!

“Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.” 1 Peter 4:16 (KJV)

Beloved, the truth you know makes you free. Christianity is a life of truth. Thus, Jesus Christ said the servant is not greater than his Lord. If they have insulted Him and called Him all manner of unfriendly names, we will also suffer the same (John 15:20, Matthew 10:24–26). Christianity is not a life of the world, so the world will hate you and do all manner of things against you. But don’t be ashamed of who you are—this makes you a servant of our Lord Jesus Christ; therefore, glorify God for sharing in the suffering of Christ.

Beloved, when you carry with you the atmosphere of always rejoicing in Christ irrespective of what the world is doing to you, God will glorify His name in you (Philippians 4:4, Acts 16:25–26). He will always promote you and cause His countenance to shine on you for the world to see the nature of Christ in you. Beloved, many who see you will testify that God is with you and will turn to the Lord. Praise the Lord! Glory to God!
   Prayer Point: My dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, thank You for introducing Christianity to the world and to me in particular. I refuse to be ashamed of my true identity as a Christian, and I’m prepared to suffer for You, my Lord. I rejoice and celebrate You always, even in the midst of suffering, because my reward is guaranteed. Amen!

Devotional: Late music legend – Peter Tosh sang a song with this title many years ago. It came to mind yesterday while I listened to a beautifully delivered sermon at a burial.
