Title: Guard Your Friendship!

“A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.” Proverbs 16:28 (KJV)

Beloved, the New International Version quotes the opening scripture as, “A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.” There is something that everyone needs in this world—friendship. The kind of friends you have shows who you are and where you are going (Luke 6:12–16).

Beloved, there are good friends, bad friends, close friends, distant friends, etc. Usually, friendship starts with communication, and good friendship leads to close friendship (1 Corinthians 15:33). Dear beloved, keep your good friends close to you and guard the relationship with prayer, the Word of God, and a watchful eye. Never allow perverse or deceitful men and women, or a whisperer or gossip, to destroy it. Hallelujah! God bless you!

Prayer Point: My Abba Father, thank You for Your good counsel. Indeed, friendship is very essential for our progress. Please lead me to find good friends; give me discernment to be able to guard my friendship in order to do much more for society in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Devotional: Late music legend – Peter Tosh sang a song with this title many years ago. It came to mind yesterday while I listened to a beautifully delivered sermon at a burial.
