Title: The Joy of Baptism

“Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;” Colossians 2:12-13 (KJV)

Beloved, the kind of baptism you have determines your identity with Christ. There are many kinds of baptism but the only one accepted by God is the one Jesus Christ went through (Matthew 3:15–17). Jesus Christ was immersed in water. Now, when you become born again you are baptized; this has a spiritual significance. When you are immersed in the water, your whole body is buried in the water, showing that you are buried with Christ. When you are raised from the water, you are identified with the resurrection of Christ Jesus into a new life (Romans 6:3–6).

Beloved, baptism is a great experience for every believer in Christ Jesus, and you must not deny yourself this physical and spiritual blessing. This becomes a memorial on your mind and keeps reminding you that your old life of sin is buried with Christ, and it motivates you to live your new life of holiness, righteousness, goodness, and kindness onto God. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

Prayer Point: My dear Abba Father, thank You for instituting baptism. I submit myself to baptism by immersion and identify myself with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Please lead me to share the significance and blessings of water baptism with others. Amen!
