In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Ephesians 1:7 KJV Devotion: In the old testament, blood of animals was shed periodically for the atonement of sin. In Exodus 30:10 it written "And Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto the LORD".The religion of then was bloody. In paganism blood ritual was frequent, for atonement, to ask for mercy, to chase away devil or even overcome sickeness and death. Thanks to God for his son Jesus Christ, who delivered us from bloodshed by making himself a sacrifice for us once and for all who believe in him.
