Devotion: Trust!

Trust is the foundation of our relationship with God. It is the quiet confidence that even when we cannot see the way forward, God is already there, guiding, protecting, and providing. To trust is to rest in His promises, knowing that His Word never fails.

Key Scriptures
- Proverbs 3:5–6 — “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”  
- Psalm 37:5 — “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this.”  
- Isaiah 26:3–4 — “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord Himself, is the Rock eternal.”  
Reflection: Trust is not passive—it is active surrender. It means choosing faith over fear, obedience over doubt, and patience over anxiety. Abraham trusted God when asked to leave his homeland without knowing the destination (Genesis 12). Daniel trusted God in the lions’ den, and his faith brought deliverance (Daniel 6). Jesus Himself trusted the Father’s will, even unto death on the cross.
  When we trust God, we acknowledge that His wisdom is greater than ours. Our understanding is limited, but His perspective is eternal. Trust transforms worry into worship, because we know the One who holds tomorrow also holds us.
Prayer
Lord, teach me to trust You fully. Help me to lean not on my own understanding but to rest in Your promises. Strengthen my faith so that in every situation, I will choose to trust You, knowing that You are faithful and true. Amen.
