Title: The Tongue

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21 NKJV Devotion: We usually say the tongue is the sweetest part of the meat, I tried it and found it so but if the chef did not prepare it correctly it has a hard non cookable surface which must be removed otherwise it will not be palatable. This is in the physical.  In the Spiritual realm it is both life and death(sweet and bitter), this why a Yoruba proverb says sweet words brings kolanuts(goodness) from the pocket and evil or uncivil words brings the sword from the sheath(war).    Apostle James in chapter 1:26 and chapter 3:5-8 aptly described the tongue. Dearly beloved, as you go about your duty today please watch what your tongue voices out let your speech project you in good light and don't let it cause you trouble. You are blessed in Jesus name. Hallelujah.  I'm Dr Joel Olanrewaju, you can reach me on gbemide09@gmail.com for questions, suggestions and prayer r...

Title: Children of God!

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. Isaiah 43:2 NKJV Devotion: In the passage above I am reassured of my safety because He who promised shall fulfil it. In fact He has been fulfilling these promises all my life and that's why you are reading from me today.   Why is God faithful to His promises in my life? The reason is not farfetched, I am a child of God just like the biblical Israel, I become a co-heir (Romans 8:17a) with Jesus the day I gave my life to Christ and repent of my sins. I am now living under the grace of God and by this grace I will not depart from God.  Dearly beloved, you can enjoy this protection as stated above in Isaiah 43:2, if you give your life to Christ or rededicate your life to Christ. You will have testimony to share with us in Jesus name.   For feedback, questions and prayer req...

Title: Love One Another.

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. John 15:13 NKJV Devotion: It is a new dawn in Nigeria today because we have a new government who the silent majority trust and hope will improve their lots.   I am therefore calling on this government to be ready to lay down their lives for the good of the nation by 1) shunning corruption and fight it will all power available to government. 2) uniting the citizens bring experts from all corners of Nigeria. 3) fighting insecurity headlong. 4) training the youths and creat environment for them to get job. 5) improving the standard of health care and make it available through participatory insurance.     If the government can do these every Nigerian will love it and feel loved by government. The opposition will also cooperate and only criticize constructively.   Our example is Jesus Christ and what he did actually is what I listed above - he was not corrupt, he paid his tax (M...

Title : Better than Fowls

"Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Matthew 6:26" Devotion : When our Lord Jesus Christ asked us to behold the fowls of the air, we must go out there and behold them and know how they are fed by our heavenly Father. Birds and other animals indeed do not sow, reap or gather into barns and yet they are fed by God.  However, we who are created in the image of God are worried by what to eat and other material things. Our Lord Jesus Christ wants us to understand how animals are fed so that we can stop worries and anxieties in our life. Our Lord also wants us to know that we were made better than animals and have more value than they are.     Dear beloved, any time you are attacked by the enemy to worry declare these words to yourself, "I am better than the birds of the air, I am more precious than animals, my God is able to provide for me."...

Title: Invite him/her to Christ!

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Matthew 28:19 Devotion: Good morning, it's another weekend, what is the plan today? You probably want to rest from the rigour of the week. That is a very good idea because God wants you to rest from your labour and be in health.  There's another work that cannot wait and must be done because nobody knows the date, time, when and where a soul might be lost eternally. We don't want to regret not winning such soul for Christ therefore the great commission must be carried out not minding the rain, sun or blizzard.   The work is easy, it can be done in many ways, physical, online such as this, on social media skits, one on one while strolling in the evening at the golf club, work place etc.  An example is this: hi, I see you're really working hard, and getting little from it. Then suggest ways to improve his efficiency and ask him if he knows mas...

Title: Prayer - most effective line of Communication with God.

praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— Ephesians 6:18 NKJV Devotion: Apostle Paul realised that life is a spiritual battle and it must be fought and won. That was he described the whole armour of God to overcome the spiritual forces of darkness. Paul having described the elements in the spiritual war recognised that the place of prayer, and therefore emphasized on it in verse 18 of  Ephesians chapter 6.  On the battlefield the difference between losers and winners is communication, whenever you have an effective communication with the commander - God, you always win. We are children of God we are aware that prayer is our communication with God we must use it effectively to win the Battle of life. Most battles have been won in the spiritual before it is actually won in the physical therefore I urge you to give prayer a priority of place in your life, learn to go on your...

Title: The Spirit of Truth

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. John 16:13 KJV Devotion: Jesus lived with the disciples for 31/2 years, He was about to leave them. They were sorrowful and anxious to know more deep things which only the Spirit could reveal this to them. He had clearly told them that He was leaving them and was going back to the Father in heaven and yet, in His loving-compassion, the Lord Jesus reminded them that He would send the Spirit of truth to guide them into all truth "and to disclose to them what is yet to come."  The spirit of truth aka Holy Spirit (ghost) is part of the Godhead along with God the father and Jesus the son. None of the three is inferior to the other but Jesus and the Spirit are submissive hence the Spirit reveals only what he hears.    In this life there are and will be many issues unrevealed as...
