Title: Hope for the Living!

Scripture Focus:  
"For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion." — Ecclesiastes 9:4 (KJV)

Devotion: Life is a gift, and as long as breath remains in us, there is hope. The Preacher in Ecclesiastes reminds us that even the lowly living dog has more potential than the mighty lion that is dead. Why? Because while we live, we still have the opportunity to turn, to change, to embrace the grace of God through Christ Jesus.
   Hope is not automatic. It is assured only when we anchor it in Christ. Without Him, man may live, but he lives without true hope. Jesus Himself declared, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). In Him, hope is not wishful thinking but a confident assurance of eternal life.
  To live with hope, man must walk in reverence to God. Paul exhorts us: “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12). This reverence is not dread but deep respect and obedience to the Lordship of Christ. It is living daily with the awareness that our choices matter, that our lives are accountable to God.

Key Reflections
- Hope in Christ: Outside of Jesus, hope is fleeting. In Him, hope is eternal.  
- Living with reverence: True hope is sustained by a life of obedience and worship.  
- Opportunity of life: As long as we live, we have the chance to repent, to grow, and to embrace God’s mercy.  
- Assurance of salvation: Hope becomes certain when we accept Christ as Lord and Savior.

Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of life and the hope that comes only through You. Help me to live each day in reverence to God, walking in Your truth and holding fast to the assurance of salvation. May my life reflect the hope I have in You, both now and forever. Amen.
